Here is a Newegg Cart with all the stuff I'm planing to buy.

I did choose the Core2Duo because I did some research and I found out that if i'm going to use the computer mainly for gaming,(which i am) then I should go with the duo.

I was so close to buying the grand Q9550, but with the price difference, I can use the saved money towards a decent 22" monitor.

I don't know to go with ATI or nVidia though. What do you guys think?

Well what you see on my Newegg wishlist is what i had planned on buying. But I can't decide if I should go with NVidia or ATI.

So Joel gets that many frames with everything on high? And also, you did say you had Win XP Pro that I could borrow right?

so im guessing joels shit comp runs at 100fps or lower with his settings on high? i would rather enjoy the game without your configs, my quad runs perfect with all the settings up. cris you dont know much about computers do you? it was Q6600 for 100 less.

u obviously dont if you still think quad core is still good for gameing and a config doesnt give 700 fps it just makes source run better and smoother. step your game up before you argue with me.

It doesnt get much fps unless you turn off pretty much all your grafix features, so youll be playing 1.6 all over again. quads run allot smoother with higher end games, if your just going to be playing counter strike source than its no use to you buying something more powerful. for nvidia's i cant help you because with those i also go for the higher end and best bang for the buck. yes nvidia instead of ati.

New game Dead Space runs great with the q6600/nvidia 8800gtx/4gb of ram, no lag at all with highest settings highest resolution. awsome game. you could just get it for xbox if you want to play it and dont want to spend so much on a pc.

I did read that if i'm going to use my build mainly to play games, (specially mainly CSS) that i should use a Duo processor. But if i'm overclocking, then i should use the Quad processor. And i don't plan on OCing (at least not anytime soon) so i will not be getting the Q6600.

So, i MIGHT use the duo, and i MIGHT use the Quad, but if i do go quad, i'm getting the Q9550 when the new i7 processor comes out and Quad prices drop.

wait so the e8600 is 80$ more for 3 fps more? I thought you were looking for something cheaper so i recommended the q6600 because someone else recommended it for me to go ahead and get it. I read the forums about them and yea it is personal preference cuz i see people fight for one and the other. I do like multitasking and maybe thats why I went for the Q6600. Some of the video games dont support more than 2 cores but when they do (future dead space/crysis) i may want to upgrade to another quad core.

I was not planing on getting the e8600, just the e8500. So it really does come down to what ever one likes. See, when i am playing, i close all other programs so i don't mutlitask. But then again, if i'm not in game, i open a lot of programs at once.

Back in the day I couldnt have my downloads running and couldnt even listen to music while playing css Sad, nowadays i can even burn a cd while i play some css. But yea, let us know how you like your pc.
